Securing the future for SAFE

Saving Animals from Euthanasia (SAFE) was founded in Karratha in 2003. Since then it has evolved into a very successful, volunteer-run animal rescue and rehoming service. New branches have formed in numerous locations throughout Western Australia.

With this growth has come growing pains. The group is bursting from the seams at their home base in Karratha and looking for a more sustainable operating model to ensure it continues to serve the community for years to come.

Storybox was engaged to help SAFE develop a long term strategic plan, a review of their current operations, an analysis of risks and an assessment of their physical, human and financial needs for the future.

SAFE relies heavily on volunteers to provide temporary foster care for animals and to assist in finding 'forever homes'. Since inception, SAFE has rehomed over 3,000 animals in Western Australia.
