Drive-In ... to Tom Price

Remember the good old days of family nights at the drive-in? All the kids watching the movie from under sleeping bags in the back of the Kingswood and a crackly speaker perched on the windowsill of the front door?

When Storybox was asked to help get the Tom Price Community Drive-In back up and running, how could we resist? Channelling the energy of passionate community people is a job we love to do.

Liz recently travelled to Tom Price in the Pilbara region of WA to assist the brand new committee with their planning, governance model, project risk assessment and incorporation application. The committee are now working hard on getting their project up and running in time for their opening night.

Local sporting clubs and commuity groups will take it in turn to operate the Drive-In Kiosk for the night as a way of raising funds for their club. What great community spirit.

The Tom Price Community Drive-In is one of very few remaining in Western Australia and it provides a wonderful family activity in this small mining town. Locals and tourists can enjoy recently released films as well as some of the old classics that make the good old days at the drive-in seem like just yesterday.
